1. Buckeye is largely set in a small town in Ohio. What did you think of the author's portrayal of small-town life? Have you lived in a smaller town? Which do you think you'd prefer, a small town or a city? Does your city have neighborhoods – ethnic or religious pockets – the way Bonhomie did? Has this changed over time?
2. Becky communicates with those who've passed on. What did you think of her choice of career? Do you think such things are possible? Have you ever visited a spiritualist, or know someone who has?
3. Why do you suppose Cal had so much difficulty believing in Becky's talents?
