As I am more than half way into the book I cannot help but to express my feelings so far. Just reading about the Walls children and the way they made the best of each ball of FIRE thrown at them, made me not only feel deep sympathy towards them but awakened my memories of my early childhood, when at times my hardships can become my own little adventure. Children have a certain innocence about them that can only take one so far. I feel that this innocence transgressed the walls children and their own independent strengths shows brightly.

The Glass castle review
An amazing story of crazy parents and struggling even among outcasts to fit in. A relatable ,humorous ,sad ,and compelling tale of an awkward girl becoming a woman of value to society

Dialogue not believable
I am a quarter of the way through and already find the book not believable. The level of dialogue for a 3 year old is silly. It is much too sophisticated and much too advanced. Furthermore, nobody remembers their 3 year old self in such detail. She has really elevated her 'maturity' in this book to carry on dialogue and make observations about life that are very adult-like. The book is a turn-off. I will read it as a dramatization- but certainly not as a full memoir.

The Glass Castle
As I was reading this deeply sad book, I kept wondering to myself, could anything else really happen to this family. It is a true story full of shocking, sometimes disturbing, scenes of the life of a little girl and her interesting family. I personally think the book was somewhat hard to finish, but nonetheless, still a good book because of the shock factor.

Guess speaker
Jeannette was the quest speaker at the Milton Hershey School graduation on June 12, 2010. She was interesting and funny at first, then she started to go on and on. The parents and students were starting to fall asleep, and someone called out," Come on". She paused for a second and continued, then the audience started to clap every few minutes. She didn't get the hint, finally the whole graduating class stood and clapped till she stop talking and sat down. She is so brain dead, she still doesn't realize, everyone wanted her to stop talking. Lesson for the lady. A speech has a interesting beginning, a thoughtful ending, and a short space in between. The book is just another look how good I am, been done before.

I believe this book is quite good. It portrays the fact that you shouldn't care how other people see you, or if they judge you, very well. This book is a good read, as well as a book that you can learn from.

I did not like the Glass Castle
I personally did not like the book whatsoever. I could not hold interest. I had to read this biography for an english project and now I'm wishing I hadn't picked that book. There were parts that were okay, but the parents made me so angry at times I wanted to throw the book across the room This book was not for me
