A little bit mystery, a little bit love story set on the Greece Island of Folegrandos. There are two parallel stories of two women…Katerina and Skye set in World War II and current day. There are two author weaves a story of the town, these women and their loves with skill and is able to keep the reader interested and anxious to read further. There is a tale of new love and old love, female strength and ingenuity , and growth in unexpected places. One cannot help but become entranced with the story and help to figure out the mystery which will weave the two women together.

I found this novel to be challenging to complete. It read like a cross between Harry Potter and Charmed. The plot line was basic. The language was inconsistent in that it was genre specific at points and then would jump to current day. The plot was repetitive and predictable. Thoroughly boring.

Tilly is rocked by grief after the loss of her beloved soulmate and wanders into a book store that will hold many surprises that evolve over the course of a year! Including a year of books curated by her late spouse to help her grow and continue with life. The author has presented the stages of grief Tilly has a gone thru as well as that of the secondary protagonist Allie who owns the bookstore. I found myself crying at times, laughing, and always cheering Tilly on. I often identified with her on her journey. A very good comfortable read!

At first glance this would appear to be a coming of age story of Emily and Gen. However it is so much more. Marie Rutkoski has done a brilliant job of character development as they have matured in their life choices good and bad. The protagonists are presented in such a way that you think you know them until there is a deep dive into the developing personalities. The age old problems of love, hate, jealousy, trust and forgiveness of yourself and others are predominant. The story expands and contracts as it progresses and culminates in an ending which is not totally expected. Bring your tissues.

Jemimah Wei weaves a heart wrenching story of two girls growing up as sisters in Singapore in the 1990's and then follows them into a diverse socially complicated journey into adulthood. Gen, is the eldest who is the narrator of the story. She is a very bright girl who lives to make her parents proud of her academic achievements to her own detriment.
Arin arrives in the family as a child of a man who is the illegitimate son of her grandfather who had left the family and her grandmother many years before. Gen accepts Arin as her sister and the vow to always be together. The story ebbs and flows as Gen and Arin grow together and apart. Many family dramas are seen thru the lens of Singapore culture and behaviors of the time.
We follow the ups and downs, successes and failures of these two women and their family members. Consequences for actions and behaviors are throughout the well developed storyline. Character development is excellent and you can feel what's it like to be in Singapore.

A refreshing read about discovering family and self. What could possibly go wrong when a thirty year old music shop owner decides she might want to meet her birth mother.? Maggie Mae , a young woman who loves music and lives thru song in all aspects of her life, is on a quest to find her birth mother with help from Jason, her fiancé and a cast of characters that will make your heart sing.
Songs of Summer was a joyful homage to days past thru the references to music which could easily have been a rom-com musical! While the ending was known early on the way to it was paved in a wonderful dance. It was also very comforting to have the early story set in Chagrin Falls, Ohio….where I have visited often!
Serial Killer Games

Serial Killers was reminiscent of a boxing match where the two main characters, Jake and Dolores, are taking jabs at each other thru the first third of the book and trying to one up the other and then perform a dance for the supporting characters through the remainder of the story as their lives become entwined and separated until the very end. Ms. Posey does manage to keep the reader in suspense throughout despite the, at times, general confusion.
Libby Lost and Found: A Novel

Initially I wondered the genre then realized it is part Fantasy, part Romance and part mystery all rolled into one cohesive story about a dysfunctional family….real and imagined. Libby and Peanut are the primary characters surrounded by a plethora of real and imagined characters which make this a very colorful story. Although it was a slow start, I was unable to put it down and had to finish it during the wee hours and by flashlight as we had no power. Only made the story richer! There is lots of room for a continuance of this storyline.
