The Night Hunter was one of those books that grabbed my attention from the first chapter and never let go. The story follows two sisters who reunite to revisit their childhood home on a remote South African game reserve after years of being apart because of a tragic event in their past.

What starts as a seemingly simple trek with friends and a guide quickly turns into a suspenseful fight for survival. Just when I thought I had figured out where the story was going, another twist changed everything. The South African setting was vivid and added an extra layer of tension and danger to the story.

I especially like Natalie Moss's exploration of the relationship between the sisters and how their past affected the decisions they made throughout the book. The mix of family drama, suspense, and action kept me turning pages.

If you enjoy thrillers with strong characters, unexpected twists, and a unique setting, I recommend The Night Hunter.

I found this to be an engaging read. I enjoyed the way Natalie Moss gradually revealed information at a steady pace, balancing the story with characters that felt like real people, complete with flaws, conflicting motivations, and personal histories that influenced their choices. Several twists caught me by surprise, and I appreciated that the revelations felt earned rather than simply inserted for shock value. The result was an engaging mystery that kept me curious about where the story was heading.

This reader couldn't put this book down. It was actually read in two days. (I did have to sleep.) The author did an excellent job describing both characters and settings. One felt as if one was in the jungle with the animals. What a surprise ending!!!! I will not say more.

Natalie Moss is a writer to watch! The Night Hunter is a fast paced, mesmerizing debut that kept me intrigued from the first page. The narrative is beautifully written. Sisters Grace and Dani embark on a safari across a game preserve to conclude some family business after the death of their mother, Elizabeth, who established a foundation to save the rhinos. Dani has carried the weight of responsibility for not saving her sister from an attack by an hyena when they were children, a guilt that has poisoned their relationship.

The sisters are joined by an eclectic group of friends and a guide to drive them across the bush to their mother's property. Almost immediately, it is evident that danger lurks behind or from above every tree in a parched environment without phone service, petrol stations or convenience stores.

This thriller kept me guessing and shocked until the final pages.
This book will definitely resonate with fans of Jane Harper.

Night Hunter is a stunning debut novel. There are surprises in every chapter, keeping the reader on edge to discover what will happen next. I will classify this as a thriller/ adventure /mystery story. It was extremely interesting reading about the bush country of South Africa. The writing was very descriptive. I will recommend this to book clubs.

Wow, so much to say about this book. This has been one of my favorite books I've read in quite some time.

The Night Hunter by Natalie Moss features a well-developed cast of characters fighting for their lives in a private reserve in South Africa. Danielle Johnson leads an intriguing group in which almost nobody seems to be who they appear as they fight poachers, wild animals, and the climate, all in search of a mysterious secret surrounding Danielle's recently deceased conservationist mother.

This is an exceptionally well-constructed novel including great character development, phenomenal plot twists, an excellent narrative style, and near-perfect pacing. I read over half of this novel in a single day as I couldn't put it down.

From beginning to end, this novel had me on the edge of my seat. I can't imagine a reader who wouldn't enjoy this; it has something for everyone to love. I already can't wait for the next offering by this promising author.

From the very beginning, the stage is set for adventure and realism. Dani and Grace are two sisters who are as different as night and day. The reader is strung along with each event that shocks and confuses. The realism is amazing and it was interesting to note from the author's bio that her background made all her descriptions accurate. Enough background is revealed to understand the politics of poaching and hunting, but not too much to take away from each characters' motivations. This is a thrilling read that keeps you guessing and reading on to the end. Exciting read!

This novel grabs hold from the opening scene and never really lets go. The tension is immediate, and the sense of danger comes from both the harsh environment and the people in it, which made the story feel especially unsettling. I was pulled in by the suspense and kept guessing about who was responsible for what was happening and what their motives were. One element that felt a little unclear tome was the stockpiling and how it connected to the conservation effort. it seemed somewhat counterintuitive, so I would have liked a bit more clarity there. Even so, that confusion did not take away from the how compelling the story was overall. What stayed with me most was the combination of high-stakes suspense, long-buried secrets, and the shifting, emotionally layered relationship between the sisters. Their dynamic gave the story added depth and made the twists feel more meaningful. Overall, this was a gripping, nail-biting read that kept me engaged all the way through.
