As an educator, I felt that Jerry Spinelli did a wonderful job describing Stargirl. She is that student we have always seen and never had the ability to describe. Through Stargirl, I learned a lot about myself and the world around us. Presently, I am reading it with my Intermediate class. At first they seemed to find her awkward and strange however within a few chapters they found themselves liking her more and more. As we continue to read, they are slowly realizing how important individuality really is. I think it is a phenominal book that all children and adults should read!

THis was the ultimate book! I enjoyed it A LOT and would read it over and over again [if I owned the book]. I would recommend that anyone read it. THis is like my favorite book now, and it was funny in some parts, sad in others and even unfair. If you're looking for a good book, chose Stargirl!

This was an amazing book. Stargirl is on a higher plane of awareness and at the same time so primitive. She does what she wants to, not in a destructive way, but by worring about everyone but herself. I am very satisfied it ended the way it did. Had it had a happy ending, where everyone loved Stargirl and everything turned out Great, I would have lost an immense amount of respect for the book. Life rarely has happy endings, and books have entirely too many.

Stargirl is an excellent book; probably the best you'll ever read. Its plotline is complicated without being unclear, and Jerry Spinelli creates the perfect setting through great, detailed description. The characters are likeable and ones you can really get into. If you like Stargirl as much as I did, you should read some of his other books like Maniac Magee. READ STARGIRL!!!!!
