Mare - Age 14 (03/20/04)

I read this book for a grade 9 English ISP. After reading the back of the novel, I must admit that I was a bit skeptical. It sounded like another of the many stories out there that look at reality and overly exagerated life struggles. But as soon as I started reading, I couldn't help but realize how utterly wrong I really was. In this novel every character is well developed. I found that he multi-conflict idea was very effective. Instead of just one problem there were numerous. This kept you wondering what would happen next. This book was anything but predictable. Althought the language was not very difficult, the ideas in the story were very real and I would not recommend this book for readers who are not ready for the harshess of the real world.

I am only ten eyars old, but this didn't stop me reading the book in 2 days flat! It's hard to explain why t's so magnificent, you can't understand until you read the book yourself. I thought the movie was outstanding, but when I read the book, that was something else! Reading the book is an experience you just can't afford to lose!!!

I loved this book so much . I was talking to my grandmother about the movie and she said you should read the book. I was so excited to read it because the movie was great. I read the book five times that summer. I recommend it to anyone that likes good books with happy endings. HEHE.
