As soon as I started reading this book I couln't not put it down. The truama that he had to go through was such at a high level that I had tears were comming down my face at an uncontrolable rate. I have never read such a book that had a child being tourchured as much as he has in real life. My heart felt like it had stopped at times the Mother had done her cruel things that I had never even dreampt about being as tourcher. I am glad that he has survived and is here to be able to talk about it, and to help the adults and childern in this time be aware that this could be happening anywhere.

This book brought tears to my eyes and not once could i put it down. How can someone be so cruel and how can a boy survive such heartaching experience, My heart went out when i read that book yet i admired that little boy whose world even though it was compuonded by fear and isolation had the strenght tto hold on he dared to dream.
Why would a mother treat her own son with such hatred? I cant believe that is something that children are faced with but for every child there is a dream waiting to be developed thanks to Dave's book
Mercedes Castillo

THIS BOOK IS INCREDIBLE.............IT HAS SO MANY THINGS TO LEARN.ONCE I READ THE FIRST TWO PAGES I HONESTLY COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN.IHAD TO KEEP ON READING IT WAS JUST SO AMAZING.IT DID BRING TEARS TO MY EYES AND I DID FEEL THE PAIN THAT THE BOY WAS FEELING IT'S JUST SO SAD AND SO VERY PAINFULL.THANKS DAVE PELZER THANKS FOR SHARING THE MOST BRUTAL AND PAINFULL THINGS THAT ANY HUMAN BEING GOES THROUGH.......KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND ALWAYS GOOD LUCK.........

NO MATTER HOW WORSE THINGS GET,
ANYONE CAN ACHIEVE WHAT THEY WANT
ALL THEY NEED TO BELIEVE IN IS......THEMSELVES.......

David, your book is for surely the best book I have ever read, I could never put it done nor could I help myself from shedding a few tears here and there. You are truely an inspiration to me! Not only by reading your book but by knowing that you cared so much about your life that you worked so hard to make something of it, especially by writing this book. I hope you the best in life and remember that your truely did make a difference in the world, at least with me!
