Ivy Pochoda grew up in Brooklyn, New York in a house filled with books. She is the author of the novel The Art of Disappearing, which was published in 2009 by St. Martin's Press. A former professional squash player, she moonlights as a ghostwriter. She was the 2009 James Merrill House Writer in Residence. She has a BA from Harvard College in English and Classical Greek with a focus on dramatic literature and a MFA from Bennington College in fiction. Ivy lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Justin Nowell.
