About this book

Book Summary

Cats once again prove to be the best medicine in the wonderful third book following the award-winning, bestselling Japanese novel We'll Prescribe You a Cat.

When you are lost, the Kokoro Clinic for the Soul will find for you.

Dr. Nikké and his clinic are always ready to offer their unconventional approach to healing. Although one never quite understands how they ended up there, each person who has walked through the door has left with a cat and a deeper understanding of themselves. Every time, the clinic reaffirms that the unbreakable bond between cats and people has the potential to heal and transform lives.

With Dr. Nikké as the constant that weaves each of these stories together, we meet a woman anxious about an upcoming competition, an overwhelmed young father, an illustrator questioning her career, and a young woman burdened with guilt. Digging ever deeper into the complicated minds of humans—and the love of their feline companions—this poignant, episodic novel provides something richer and more challenging than mere comfort: compassion.

Another winning story about the beloved Kokoro Cat Clinic
This was another delightful book about the beloved Kokoro Cat Clinic. Telling stories through multiple short vignettes that presents different characters and their challenges while still tying into the overall narrative, I was happy to see that we eventually learn what's behind the mystery of the clinic. A lighthearted read, perfect for a cozy rainy afternoon curled up with a cup of tea.

A quirky, adorable book!
"Welcome to the Kokoro Cat Clinic" by Syou Ishida is a delightfully weird book about a back-alley mental health clinic (of a sorts) which prescribes its patients cat-based therapies. Structure as a series of short vignettes, this book will have readers charmed and sometimes baffled. I am very glad I read it and think you will be too!

Thank you to Berkley Publishing Group and Netgalley for sending me an advanced reader copy of this book.

Comfort read
What a beautiful, cozy book. I laughed, I cried, and I gained insight into myself and others just as the characters in the stories did. I haven't read the others in the series, so I'm not sure how this one compares, but this was a comforting escape from my stressful world, and I highly recommend to anyone really.

Cute and cozy
Perfect pick me up book! I read the first two books in this series and I was so excited for a third book! It is impossible to read without a smile on your face!

This was a very enjoyable book
I've always thought of myself as a dog lover, but after reading this book, I would really like to get a cat. Cats are very interesting animals. Their personalities make each one a distinct individual. Syou Ishida uniquely weaves the characters of cats into the personality healing of humans. I have never entertained the thought of a cat as being a prescription to heal areas of human behavior, so this book was very enlightening and unique for me. I have not read the other books by this author but after reading this book, I will certainly be checking them out. I certainly would recommend this to my friends.

Even if you don't have a cat, you will enjoy this series
This is the third book in this series. I recommend reading them in order. The Kokoro Clinic for the Soul is staffed by one doctor and one nurse. The doctor listens to your concerns and then prescribes a cat. I really enjoyed all the patients and the interactions with their specific cats.
