"Daniel Boyd" is the pen name of a veteran police officer who served for twenty-five years in central Ohio, from street cop to Chief of Police, then went on to work another twenty years as a driver for the Red Cross, taking elderly and disabled people to medical appointments. He recalls, "Police work taught me a lot, some of it pretty harsh, and a few of the folks I met might think they see themselves in my books. But I never really learned about people until they shared their lives with me on those trips to dialysis, cancer treatments, and more at the Red Cross."
