About this book

Book Summary

Is there really a human race? Is it going on now all over the place? When did it start? Who said, "Ready, Set, Go"? Did it start on my birthday? I really must know.

With these questions, our hero's imagination is off and running. Is the human race an obstacle course? Is it a spirit? Does he get his own lane? Does he get his own coach?

More Information

Curtis' latest book was inspired by her 10-year-old son who asked 'Is there really a human race?' Curtis says, 'He wanted to know am I in this race? And why didn't you happen to mention to me that everything I do is a competition?' It was a simple question, but it raises some profound issues about what we do as a society and how we raise our children."

Curtis says she wants to offer kids some hope in what sometimes seems a hopeless world situation. "We're the generation that has messed things up," she comments. "How can we help our kids change this? I'm just a tiny ant voice echoing some of the great leaders like Gandhi, telling kids that they can do a lot if they open their minds, think for themselves and create change.
