The Silent Period: A Novel
by Francesca Manfredi
Silent Period ,a tough read (12/28/2025)
I had a tough time getting through the noise of the main character’s constant self doubts and issues about being criticized for her voiced opinions. I found it needlessly wordy and not engaging. The observations about her chosen lifestyle from her lovers and family were more interesting. Loved the cover.
Awake in the Floating City: A Novel
by Susanna Kwan
Floating City (6/8/2025)
Though I am not a fan of dystopian books I thought this premise was beautifully written. It's a poignant story of list family, fading memories, stalked ambition revived by human connection. The main characters, Bo ,a young artist and Mia a 130( yes 130) year old living alone is a great story.
