The Secrets of Midwives
by Sally Hepworth
Great read (12/12/2014)
I liked this book for a few reasons, mainly the character development. I found I liked all of the three main characters for different reasons. Their personal lives were revealed with flashbacks which worked well in this book because they were short and the plot returned easily. I liked the way the author kept the story moving with anticipation of who would find out what and when.
The ending was a bit of a surprise but with some touches of a romance novel.
Backyard
by Norman Draper
homespun (10/24/2014)
I love this type of homespun yarn! reminiscent of the Mitford Series with its zany cast of characters. I always looked forward to picking up the book to stay " in touch" with what's going on... I would read any other books by Norman Draper
The Arsonist: A novel
by Sue Miller
I was expecting more (7/9/2014)
I was disappointed by this read. I was waiting for the big moment, whatever it was going to be, and it didn't happen. It turned out to be a love story with a side plot about an arsonist. Sorry to be so blunt but I feel I wasted my time with this book.
