The Promise
by Ann Weisgarber
The Promise (9/18/2015)
Our book club chose this book because we enjoyed the author's first book "The Personal History of Rachel Dupree." She didn't disappoint. Loved the story, the characters and the imagery. It has romance, history, and drama! I highly recommend this book to both individuals as well as book clubs. It is not often everyone in our group is in agreement.
The Well
by Catherine Chanter
The Well (1/28/2015)
When I first started The Well, I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy it but it soon captivated me and I had a hard time putting it down. The characters were well developed and the book was very well written. I can't wait till it is published and suggest it to our book club.
House of Bathory
by Linda Lafferty
House of Bathory (1/15/2014)
While I don't normally like vampire novels, I did enjoy this book. Lafferty did a great job blending fiction with the facts. She also did a great job developing her characters and making them believable. That said I found myself skimming through the modern portion and thought the author could have done just as good of a job with less pages.

House of Bathory (1/15/2014)
While I don't usually read vampire/paranormal books, I do love historical fiction and House of Bathory didn't disappoint me. The author did a pretty good job of blending fiction with facts. The storyline held my attention and I really enjoyed reading about the history of the Countess. However I didn't care as much for the modern day portion of the book which skimmed through and the book was longer than needed..
The Spirit Keeper
by K. B. Laugheed
The Spirit Keeper (9/11/2013)
Katie O'Toole the 13th child from a poor, dysfunctional family is offered an unusual way to better herself. When her home is raided by Indians she is taken captive by two who claim they have been searching for her. They believe she is the Creature of Fire and Ice a spiritual source that will benefit their people. Instead of going back to her abusive family, Katie decides to go with them. Her journey of self discovery is compelling. The Spirit Keeper is a fascinating tale of love, loss and adventure.
