I love Paris in Love. It is so beautifully written. The technique of using vignettes gathered from facebook and Twitter works brilliantly. I thought I'd have to read it again just to glean names of museums, bistros, and shopping experiences, but surprise! They are listed in the back of the book with locations and websites. I'll read it again anyway because it is so delightful.

As I read this book superlatives kept coming to me. It is stunning, superb, astounding. The title could have easily been Secrets. So many family secrets. We see the story in chronological order by different women, all related to the sisters, as well as the sisters themselves. The story of the sisters is bittersweet. This is a book that I will recommend to our bookclub, as it is usually all women. In our small community, we are all sisters, and the story will resonate with all of us.

If you have ever suffered the sudden, unexpected death of a young loved one, this book will have you reliving the horror of those days. It is nonetheless, a compelling read, a book you cannot put down. You will be asking yourself who and why again and again. I'm not sure the ending really answers those questions. But I am recommending this book to discerning readers.
Outside Wonderland: A Novel

Even though I cared about the characters and what happened to them, the book seemed just a step above a romance novel or soap opera. The writing was competent, but not exciting. I will not recommend it to demanding readers.

"Wrecker" is an eloquent, loving, human book. It grabs you on the first page and never lets you go. The characters are utterly perfect. As an older reader, I often forget the names of people in books. Not this one. Wrecker is a book that will stay with you for a long time.
