Spying on the South: An Odyssey Across the American Divide
by Tony Horwitz
Spying on the South (11/1/2022)
This book gave me a better understanding of Olmstead's visit to the South, and a better understanding of how he was motivated and influenced by his environment in designing his gardens. I loved Toni's travel writing about his impressions, both independent and comparative to Olmstead. I was saddened by how much we as Americans still have to achieve in becoming a democratic nation.
