The Doctor and the Diva: A Novel
by Adrienne McDonnell
The Doctor & the Diva (5/30/2010)
An interesting story with excellent descriptions of settings and character development. Some transitions between sections in chapters were choppy but the novel was an easy read.
Ten Minutes from Home: A Memoir
by Beth Greenfield
Ten Minutes from Home (4/24/2010)
This is a well-written and poignant account of a young girl's struggle dealing with tragedy and personal loss. It was very easy to read but hard not to feel the sadness as we read about Beth's experiences. I believe writing this memoir was therapeutic for Ms. Greenfield and only wish that she and her parents would have sought professional grief counseling as a family to help them deal with this tragedy.
Heresy
by S.J. Parris
HERESY (12/16/2009)
I enjoyed reading this book. The author did a very good job developing the characters and this kept the plot interesting and mysterious. I was not able to predict the ending. Anyone who enjoys mysteries will enjoy reading Heresy.
The Book of Illumination: A Novel from the Ghost Files
by Mary Ann Winkowski
The book of Illumination (10/13/2009)
I found "The Book of Illumination" to be a rather disappointing read. I was anticipating a page-turning novel filled with suspense, but, instead, found one filled with needless detail. It was an easy book to read but also one that I found easy to put down. Unfortunately, this book did not capture my interest.
