The Hunter's Daughter
by Nicola Solvinic
Crashed on the runway (9/8/2025)
Really like 3.5 .

First this was a very well written book. I look forward to more Nicola.
The police procedural was great, and the investigatory logic flowed well.

Our protagonist was a fun read if some decisions felt off.

But the reveal , the surprise (I won't call it a twist) just fell flat and crashed for me. It might have held up if we had anything to base it on, like if the FBI agent was hinted to be like one of those "look into the void and the void looks back" kind of way. But I didn't really feel it with this guy.

And personal gripe not affecting review/rating: Percival was not a Chekov's gun in some way, I wanted some Percival mentioned in the current timeline. Maybe she would have a German shepherd of her own named Arthur ! ;)
