The Botanist's Assistant
by Peggy Townsend
Plucky Heroine (7/15/2025)
Thank you to BookBrowse/NetGalley for this book! Margaret is a large boned, late middle-age woman who sticks to the rules and routine. Her boss is murdered but the university where she works believes that he died of natural causes. Margaret cannot led this be so she investigates the circumstances and picks up interesting characters along the way.
The book started out a little slow for me but picked up pace where I didn't want to put it down!
One Death at a Time

A fun read (12/11/2024)
I enjoyed reading One Death at a Time. This was a fast paced book with fun over-the-top characters based in Hollywood. An aging former movie star (Julia Mann) and her AA sponsor (Natasha Mason) are on the trail of solving a murder that Julia has been accused of committing. This is a cozy with many great, offbeat characters with a believable resolution. I hope this becomes a series! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
We'll Prescribe You a Cat

Charming Book (6/5/2024)
I thoroughly enjoyed We Will Prescribe You A Cat. The book concerns a mysterious clinic in Kyoto where troubled people are given a cat for a limited time to help resolve their issues (with a few twists and turns). Highly recommended for cat lovers!
