Good, classic spy novel
Sentinel: A Spycatcher Novel by Matthew Dunn is the second novel in the Spycatcher series. Sentinel is a very fun cat vs. mouse (or more accurately cat vs. cat) thriller involving spies in the former Soviet Union. This book has the feel of a classic James Bond novel with an incredibly talented and resourceful hero battling a nearly unstoppable opponent. There's plenty of action to keep the reader interested. Recommended for those who enjoy a good, straight-forward spy novel.

Sentinel
Matthew Dunn wrote a very interesting spy novel. It kept me reading almost non-stop. He is very very knowledgeable in his field but I wasn't. I did not read the glossary until I finished the book. It would have been helpful if it was in the beginning and maybe grouped by country. I think that would make it easier to follow. Other than my lack of knowledge, I really enjoyed the book. It had twists and turns that came as suprises. I would recommend this book to fellow readers.

An enjoyable read,obviously written by an author who knows what he's writing about.fast paced,gritty and scary.believable characters,and all to believable premise involving a rogue military faction and a deep cover agent,sentinel,and the man sent to find him and stop the threat! The cold war isn't over,it's just started,read it!

CIA recevies a message that an undercover agent has betrayed them and undercover agent is sent to find that person. Everyone seems to know where to find help and who to trust. It tells about the rough life an undercover agent really has. It's a good story to ponder how many people help our country and are never known.

Sentinel was a good book, but nothing special. When I read a spy novel, I'm always looking for something that makes it unique. Didn't find it here. The cold and snowy weather throughout, though, now that will have the reader heading for a warm blanket!

I always enjoy spy stories and would rate this one as good.. the ending was a surprise to me, never saw that coming! Well written but not the best I have read in that genre.

page turner
This book is a page turner, a political/spy thriller, with nonstop action. I am glad I found the glossary at the back of the book before I started reading it because there are a lot of technical military and government terms. I learned enough about the main character to like him but look forward to more character development. I almost read the whole book in one sitting. Can't wait to read his first novel. I would enjoy following a character like Will through several undercover assignments, such as with the Jason Bourne books.

My Bad, Missed the Glossary
I enjoyed the read, wished I had noted the Glossary at the end. I was thinking half way through, all the ABC terms were hard to keep track of, kind of dragged down the reading, he needed to give us a dictionary of terms. I felt bad when I got to the end and found the Glossary, just what I was looking for. The beginning was intriguing, the second half was the best. I'd read something else by this author.
