This one was creepy, disturbing and a little too dark for my tastes, despite being an avowed and forever Dervla McTiernan fan. Detective Judith Lee is in the process of investigating a psychiatrist who may have sexually assaulted young female patients over decades, when he is brutally murdered and she is blamed for the death. McTiernan builds in several historical crimes that come to play significant roles in Detective Lee's ability to figure out who is behind this murder and others. At about 70, the pages practically turned themselves as I raced - with a racing heart - through the last third.
