Everyday life
This was an excellent story about the ordinary lives of a group of people, and the problems the crossover can cause. It actually was well done and interesting. It was truly an example of we never do know what happens in the homes of others.

Other People's Houses
I loved this book. Right book at the right time. One couple's marital issues affect the whole neighborhood in one way or another. This is a story of friendship, marriage, and community. The writing reminded me of Liane Moriarty. We all know people who resemble the characters in this book. I will definitely be looking into other books by Abbi Waxman.

Light but clever
This is a slice of life story about a group of families on the same street, dealing with issues of everyday life. The writing is clever and witty, and this book is what I call a great palette cleanser. This is a perfect book to read when you want something light after a few heavy serious reads. It's nothing I'm going to spend days thinking about but it was entertaining and fun.

Satisfying Read
I enjoyed Abbi Waxman's "Other People's Houses". I liked that it told the story of several different neighbors and how we never really know what is actually going on in the private lives of people we may see almost daily. I could relate to many of the characters and their struggles with raising children, keeping their relationship with their partner flourishing and just dealing with the whole small town everyone knows your business drama.

This book was difficult for me to rate, because although I found the story a little contrived and the characters not very believable, I did enjoy Abbi Waxman's writing. She is funny and irreverent, and while I probably wouldn't recommend the book to my book club, it was a quick, easy and mostly enjoyable read.

A quick fun read
This book will take you to an ordinary neighborhood and show you how no one really knows what goes on in other families. I found it quick to read and fun...I found myself wanting to find time to sit and read it so I could discover the workings of the families. I think if you are interested in everyday life...(which we all are) read this one...

This is a story that could take place in anyone's neighborhood. Frances Bloom found herself involved with the lives of other families on her block. Who really knows what happens behind closed doors but sometimes we find out by accident. Abbi Waxman is a pro at delivering a story full of humor and her imagination. The characters are unforgettable and real. This would be a good book club choice that could lead to all kinds of discussions.

Looking for a thoroughly entertaining read? You found it! Abbi Waxman creates a believable neighborhood of characters and invites you to share in their mishaps, embarrassments and struggles! I was intrigued and invested by the first chapter. I will definitely pick up the next book she writes!
