I am a seventh grader attending at Dacusville Middle School. Our language arts class just finished reading the book Stargirl. I have to say that I was a little disappointed at the end but over all it was superb! The way that Jerri Spenelli wrote the book and made it sound, ended up sounding like a fairytale. I don't think there is a real person like Stargirl but I bet some people have come close. Stargirl helped me learn a lesson, that you should be who you are and to not be afraid of it. I think Jerry Spinelli rote this book just for people like me, to realize that popularity doesn't matter but being yourself does.

!*~*!*~*I loved this book! i think i taught the readers, meant to be teenagers, not to care what other people think of them. Even though it tells you to always follow your heart, and to be "spur of the moment" I also think that we, as teenagers should set morals for ourselves! I definately recommend this book to all teenagers, in general, and to anyone who feels like they dont fit into the rest of the world! God still loves you, no matter what you wear, do, or say!! ROCK ON!*~*!*~*!

Stargirl was a enlighting and enchanting novel. It showed how high school can be cruel to people who are trying to be diverse. This book was very suspensful, and I believe that it was one of Jetty Spinelli's best books. Some of my friends barrowed the book from me, and they fell in love with it also. In fact, my high school can relate to this book. There was a new student who transfered to our school, and she was very different. She was not as different as Stargirl, and I don't think that she was shunned as badly a Stargirl, but I do know that she inspired a lot of people to be different, and have their own personality. One thing that I did not like about this book was that Leo wanted Stargirl to become normal. I think he should have just accepted her the way she was; after all, it is good to be different. However, this is a book that you just can't put down, and that is worth reading.

I think that the overall message of this book was good, however, the dramatic events that I had hoped for seemed very few and spread out.

I think this was a good book. It is about discovering yourself and acceptance. I would recommend it.

It was a great book! A bit kidish however and short lived. The ending was uncreative but the rest of the book was worth reading! I recommend it to girls 14 and under!
