Unlikeable Characters
I agree with a previous reviewer. This book was not for me. I had high hopes of a great reading experience, judging from other reviews. I just did not care or relate to the changing characters who inhabited the little yellow house. The storyline was very unique and unpredictable. I think it could have been more relatable if the characters not been so extreme, sometimes violent, and/or mad.
I was not expecting ghosts, but they were plausible in some ways due to the age of the little house. It was a very creative endeavor, but just not for me.

History of the Yellow House
The cover of books is often what will help me decide if I am going to read it. Somehow this cover does not indicate the true nature of the magical tale on pages. I read it slowly and savored the uniqueness of the story. Vivid characters and landscapes that grow in one's mind. Definitely a book to share coffee and discussion with friends.

Not for me
I tried I really did with this one I got lost trying to keep up with the various changes in perspective. I just couldn’t do it.

Beautifully written - but not for me
Although this novel is beautifully written, I was bored by it much of the time. I am likely in the minority on this one. I can imagine it might win some awards based on the writing. This one just wasn’t for me.
