Elizabeth @Silver's Reviews - Tense, stay-with-you thriller
A small town, a perfect town, a town with secrets, and a town with the not so perfect residents they think they are.

The night Jenny Kramer is attacked is the night that the town gets turned upside down along with her family. Jenny's father is obsessed with finding her attacker, and the town can't believe something like this could happen in Fairview, Connecticut.

The horrible attack on Jenny brought about a decision her parents had to make concerning a drug that would erase Jenny's complete memory of the attack.

Mr. and Mrs. Kramer were at odds about the drug, but they did agree to go ahead with the treatment.

Along with the treatment comes a psychiatrist, Dr. Forrester, who administered the treatment as well as the doctor who provided therapy for the entire family.

The author definitely expands the reader's knowledge about psychiatric therapy as Dr. Forrester interviews Jenny, her family, and a character named Sean.

We the reader follow the investigation and question who really is the attacker.

ALL IS NOT FORGOTTEN is a powerful, amazingly written read. The story line is highly developed, carried out in an organized fashion, and gives the reader a lot to think about.

You will be frustrated at first because you don't know who the narrator is, but it becomes apparent and is revealed a few chapters in.

By chapter 18 you will be biting your fingernails and be on the edge of your seat with the suspense, possible findings, and seeing how cunning and evil some of the characters are.

Reading ALL IS NOT FORGOTTEN? was a definite treat on an intellectual level, and the approach to the book's subject was unique.

ALL IS NOT FORGOTTEN was a tense, stay-with-you psychological thriller and will make you wonder if folks are really who they appear to be.

This book was given to me free of charge and without compensation in return for an honest review.

Suspenseful Story
With the various storylines – Charlotte’s affair, Sean’s unstable marriage, Tom’s boss and his interaction with the family, the drug dealer, Forrester’s son – a lot is thrown at you. I felt like some of it was too contrived, too many “red herrings”. I thought the author did an excellent job of explaining the controversy regarding recovered memories and they can be manipulated. The book is definitely suspenseful – a real page-turner.

Interesting Journey-Interesting Ending
I read the book in a weekend. It was not quite a "I can't put it down" read, but I definitely wanted to see how it would end. One of the great things about the book was that every time I thought I knew where the author was going with the plot, she changed direction and took us down a new path. The ending was very unexpected. You don't know until the last few pages what the narrator's true role was in the story. The one thing that I had trouble with in reading was the sometimes confusing time shifts. There were times that you weren't sure if an event was taking place during the current day or at a time in the past. The narrator sometimes even jumped into the future and then had to backtrack. I would have liked a little less of that as it was confusing. But overall, I would still recommend this book to anyone who likes the challenge of reading a book and trying to guess where the author is taking you.

All Is Not Forgotten
This is a twisty thriller with a most unreliable narrator; and if you enjoy unexpected connections, family drama, and some mystery, you will certainly enjoy this satisfying story! Teenager Jenny Kramer has been brutally violated, but her parents choose to subject her to what is known as "The Treatment," a medical intervention that allows a victim to "forget" the details of a trauma. The mind, however, is a very tricky thing, and this treatment is not without shortcomings. This tale does not belong to Jenny alone. There are several characters in her world who care about her....but they may have secrets of their own. Especially intriguing is the narrator, who wants very much to help Jenny...or does he? I confess to ordering this book because the main character and I share first and last names, but I also found this book to be dark and suspenseful, which is a category now dominated by novels touted as the next Gone Girl. This book stands on its own.

All is Not Forgotten
Wendy Walker's psychological thriller is very compelling with its various narrators, characters and their baggage. Since memory loss, intentional and otherwise, is a major issue in the plot, the reader is left with some questions about what is true and what is being manipulated. The psychiatrist narrator is a particularly interesting voice who seems thoughtful until maybe you are not sure but none of the answers are simple. I thought the story built well but this really isn't a "page turner". The ending was satisfying and not really anticipated. This book will be well received and popular among fans of Girl on A Train and Big Little Lies.

Interesting
What I found interesting was the switching back and forth of the narrator. He is a psychologist who helps a rape victim who is a patient. Then he suspects someone he knows. How he plays two these things against each other and what he does is interesting. I even thought that the narrator might be the rapist. What a mess but the author does a good job of keeping everything straight for you. I read it in close to record time and I cannot say that this is because I was going to write a review. A very good book.
