I read "The Boy Called IT" and I can't beleive that a mother regardless of her "mental problems" or anything else can do that to her own flesh and blood. People have a habit of jumping to conclusions, always thinking it is the child's fault. This is so wrong. When I read this book, you see my granddaughter of 13 gave me this book and she said " Meme, it is so sad" and you know? She is sooo right. I read it in a couple of hours and most of the time, I was crying. I know how much my children and grandchildren mean to me and I know that some people have a problem sharing that love, But, listen!! This is THEIR child!!! Another thing, people in the family knew that this woman must have had some mental problems and they should have taken the child away!!
Emma Barber

The insight into the mind of an abused child was invaluable to me. I read the lost boy and a child called it and it made me realise just how hard social workers and foster carers work to create a loving place for children to live in. I really feel for david pelzer and all of the other children out there who are being constantly tortured. It makes me realise just how lucky i am. It is a truely harrowing story and i would recommend it to anyone.
