dude

I did not like this book.

I've heard people compare Eragon to things like LOTR and Harry Potter. Someone even went so far as to say that Eragon was way better than Harry Potter. I'm sorry but it is appalling to say that. Paolini wrote the book when he was fifteen and you'd think he would have a better grasp of the english language. Characters have very little development and the plot is maybe 2% original.

My main problem with Eragon is that it is a ripoff of some really good books. When I read it, I thought CP had simply gone through LOTR and picked names at random to slightly alter and then use. The plot is full of little Tolkien ripoffs. I thought it was bizzare that there was so much LOTR in Eragon, then I read some other reviews that rip on Paolini for copying a series called Dragonriders of Pern and even (???) Star Wars?

Anyway, read it, see what you think. If you've read Tolkien you'll might put the book down in disgust, and If you havent you might realize that the hype is becouse Paolini is 15 years old.

I am 15 and i couldn't agree with you less Harry Ballsagna ! I thought Eragon was the best (next to Tolkien's Lord of the Rings) book i have ever read ! it was absolutly amazing ! I can't even express how much i loved so i'll just leave it at that ! LOVED IT !!

Eragon sure has made a massive boom in the writing indusrty.

I wanted to ask if anyone knows how much money KNOPF offered him, as well as how much he made overall, from royalty and so on.

Since this sight isn't meant for this kind of thing, I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could contact me at emeraldreamer@hotmail.com

thanks

I love your book Eragon. I taught it was the best book I ever read. I can't wait till Eldest comes out and sees what happens with him at the Elven territory. It is so good you should make a movie out of it.If you do I would probaly see it the day it comes out.

I have always been a fan of a good story especially when it deals with fantastic creatures like elves, dragons, and this sort of thing. Eragon is an exceptional one that deals with trials and tribulations of growing up in a chaotic world (whether you are dragon rider or not) it's not easy. Very well written. Good moral behind the story "Never give up, life is worth fighting for". CHEERS
