A pretty good book. It could do with some character development and Mr. Brown seems to be "showing off" his research and knowledge of secret soceities and such. Its quite obvious that he draws inspiration from Robert Ludlum's later work which almost became generic in the whole deal with unwitting man gets thrust into a mystery meets beautiful woman etc.
However, I did have a question for those that read the book and I wil try and be vague as possible to not reveal the plot: given what we know about the Holy Grail, why then does the Bible say that Jesus drank from the Holy Grail and passed it around to his Disciples. to me that just seems rather wrong if you know what I mean!!!wrong

Has everyone gone mad? I read this book to the bitter end, but found no character development, unlikely circumstances, 105 short chapters (averaging 3 to 4 pages) almost all of which end on cliff-hangers that quickly become tiresome. This gimimck shows a lack of ability to hold the reader's attention in any other way. Brown makes Langdon and Sophie, two supposed experts, appear as clueless as the rest of us in figuring out the Fabonacci sequence and da Vinici's reverse wriiting. I actually figured these out before they did. Well, this book is definitely headed for the big screen and who would be better suited for the Langdon role than Harrison Ford? His acting abilities are definitely up to this role.

I was blown away by the "Code"....This is the first book I have ever read by Dan Brown....I heard him on Public Radio....and was so interested..I went to my book store and bought the last copy they had....needless to say, I am reading Angels and Demons....and will read the Deception!!!!
Exceptional writing....I especially like the short chapters! Even tho' I am not able to put it down....I certainly can't read it when I am trying to go to sleep!!!!..........GOOD JOB!!!!!!!

This book is pure genius. After reading the book I looked at some of the facts brought up in the story and they are amazing to see with my own two eyes, As Mary Magdaline being in the Last Supper, because that is clearly a women in the painting. It makes one realize that through-out history how do we not know the Bible has never been rewritten.

This book is well written, well researched and expounds a very interesting religious theory, as well as being a thoroughly good read. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a fast moving story-line with unexpected twists and turns.

Absolutely excellent. To say you can't put it down is an understatement. Fascinating from any number of perspectives: Thriller, conspiracy, history. I'd love (LOVE) to know how much of it is really true. That's enough, I'm going back to read it again!!

My son presented this book to me with the admonition that I would not be able to put it down. Yeah!??? Boy was he right!!! What a mixture of suspense, cliff hangers, exceptional writing coupled with fascinating historical church material. WOW--I've recommended it to all my friends with a 5 rating. One of the best reads in many a year!
