I'm not as enamoured of Crimson Petal as most of the reviewers. I thought this book was too long, and wonder if it ended so abruptly because the writer wasn't sure where it was going. The book had a very strong start, but the notion that the prostitute could give her consort business advice is pretty far fetched, and the ending was bad. I was mostly impressed with the subtlety of the change in the characters over the course of the story, however, and would recommend the book, in general. It's certainly better-written than a lot of pop fiction that's out there right now.

it took me 1 week and a half to read it..I'm a speed reader
I just didnt like it, it was way too voulgar, i found myself saying "gross" too many times to call this a good book
thats it

Nice novel. It pictures the era very well. One is also concerned for what happens to the characters. But it is far too long and according to me the end is not conclusive enough. So many words written for such a small tale
Linda Burke

I thought ithe book was dreadful. I spent so much of my time reading it only to find the worst ending I have ever read.
I consider the hours I spent reading such a long book and was just so dissapointed in the end.
Every book I read I pass onto my family, however I would hate anyone I know to waste as much precious time as I have.
I aslo was going to pass it onto the person who gave it to me as a gift but again now with a clear concious cannot.
What a dissapointment.
