Wow!
I am 12 years old, and I loved this book!!!! After my mom read it, she recommended it to me to use for my historical fiction book report. I thought it would be, well, just OK. Was I wrong!! I couldn't put it down- and finished it in three days!!
I am glad to say, this is one of the best books- out of many- that I have ever read. Now I can go to the book club with my mom and be a part of it. Yay!!

This is seriously one of the best books I have ever read. It's one of my summer reading books, and I thought it would be boring like my other ones. But I guess I thought wrong.

Beautiful Story. Great Drama and what a life for Lily. I compare my life with hers. The way Lily suffered is heartbraking. This story teaches you to love and think about others more than yourself. I love you Corinne Quinette. I think about you night and day.

age 14:This was one of the best books I have ever read it was an inspirational book about a girl my age growing up in South Carolina during a rough period, and also evolving from a girl into a women without the guidence to get her through, We were just given this book to read as a school thing I loved it so much I was on a panel at our local library and I also tried kneeling on grits! (don't do it! its very painfull) this book is probaly one of my Favorites!

unlike many comming of age tales The Secret Life of Bees is a fast paced ride. Young Lilly searches to find the means to cope with the desertion and guilt that has weighted her down her entire life. Sue Monk Kidd writing is crisp and vivid. This book beautilfully expolres a very human search for motherly love, and a hive to belong to.
