Lady Tan's Circle of Women: A Novel
by Lisa See
Super Read (7/23/2024)
Lisa See does not disappoint. She takes us back in time when it was Imperial China. The historical accuracy of life then is amazing. I was suprised to learn about women doctors and midwifes and the role they played even in upper class homes. I so enjoy her books.
The Women: A Novel
by Kristin Hannah
The Truth (5/5/2024)
This book is outstanding! I've watched Ken Burns documentary on Viet Nam and Hannah brings it alive. No one has told the story of Nam from the view of the women who served in this war, their experiences and what they encountered coming home.
Exiles: Aaron Falk Mystery #3
by Jane Harper
Exiles by Jane Harper (8/11/2022)
Once again Harper intensely combines the curiosity of Aaron Falk and the terrain of Australia. Kim has gone missing from the local yearly festival and her 6 week-old daughter is found abandoned. No one saw her leave the festival and she was seen at various locations. Her white trainer is found in the reservoir's dam. One year later, Zara, her older daughter plans an appeal to festival goers hoping to jog a memory and help find her missing mother. As Falk moves forward he learns of another unsolved case that's six years old, an unsolved hit and run. Could the two incidents be related? They both occurred by the reservoir. Falk is plagued by pieces of information he can't quite put together. As he does, there's an ending you won't expect.
