This was the best book I have ever read. I carried this large book with me every where I went. I could not put it down. Thank you for the book Wally I am waiting for your next one. Thanks again.
Absolutely fascinating to see the reactions to mental illness and to see how the brother is driven/destined to be his brother's keeper and give up the role. Extremely realistic, moving, though-provoking.
After Lamb's first book, "She's Come Undone", I thought the second book would never measure up. Well, he did it again - and even better! I can't put it down and don't want it to end... If he can do this twice, then surely his next will be wonderful!
As a rule I tend not to cry in books, but this was the first to make me. This book is amazing, that is all I can think of to describe it. I thought at first that it was because I'm at the perfect stage in my life to read it BUT I came to the conclusion that this man is not …more only an awfully talented writer but researcher as well. He understands people like no other writer I've ever experienced. Wally Lamb has inspired me to continue writing.(less)
