Effective today, Holtzbrinck Publishers has changed its name to Macmillan, but all but one imprint belonging to the company (including Henry Holt, Farrar, Straus & Giroux, St. Martin's, Tor, Picador, Scientific American and W.H. Freeman) will retain their names. The only imprint to change is the audiobook imprint, Audio Renaissance, which is now Macmillan Audio.
The company notes that the Macmillan name has a long history and is already used in more than 70 countries for Holtzbrinck's English-language publishing operations and thus creates "a unified worldwide presence" for the publisher.
