The independent Russian media outlet Verstka ("Layout") has published a noteworthy piece on the devastating effect that mobilization is having on Russia's schools because thousands of teachers have been conscripted or have fled. Apparently, Russia was already short of a quarter of a million teachers. Now schools across the country are struggling, with many saying up to 100-120 teaching hours a week have been lost, and there is no one to replace them. In one private school in St Petersburg, 80% of the teaching staff have left or are going to leave due to mobilization or fleeing abroad.
