Sebastian Faulks (author of Charlotte Gray, Birdsong etc) has been commissioned by Ian Fleming Publications Ltd to write a James Bond novel. Faulks says, "My novel is meant to stand in the line of Fleming's own books, where the story is everything." With this in mind, Devil May Care will be set in the Cold War with action taking place in exotic locales across the globe. It will be released on what would have been Ian Fleming's 100th
birthday on May 28, 2008.
Faulks's latest novel, Engleby, was published in the UK in May 2007, and will be released in the USA in September.
