Adrian Mole author, Sue Townsend, dies aged 68

Sue Townsend, 68, died at home on Thursday after a short illness following many years suffering with diabetes that left her blind.

She will be best remembered for her 8 book series starting with The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, aged 13 3/4, which was published in 1982. The eighth installment, The Prostrate Years was published in 2009. She also authored a number of other novels, plays, and a memoir.
