Cellphone company Orange has announced that it will no longer be supporting the UK based Women's Prize for Fiction, which it has sponsored since the award was founded 17 years ago. The organization is now looking for a new sponsor. Co-founder and honorary director Kate Mosse, quoted in the Guardian, says "the investment generates something in the region of £17.5m a year in advertising, and the cultural capital of the women's prize for fiction is practically second to none."
