Do you feel Rosaline would have been enamored of Romeo if she wasn't slated for the convent, or would she have been better able to resist his charms?

First, she probably wouldn't have been at the party where they met had she not been slated to join the convent. Regardless of when they met I dont think she would have resisted his charms. She was so desperate for love and attention that she was an easy target

I felt she was desperate to enjoy the things young women of her age enjoy including falling in love or infatuation. The fact that she was in a situation that required accelerated decisions probably persuaded some of her behavior. She had a deep moral conscious, remember her troubled mind about taking her Dowery from her father, so I’m sure if she had meet Romeo under normal circumstances she would still have been enamored by his attentions, but maybe not so willing to jump into the fire with both feet.

I think that Rosaline was naive in the area of men and Romeo was a smooth talker who had entrapped other young women. She may never have met him if she hadn’t been told she was going to the convent but upon meeting him, yes, I think she would have responded the same way.

I think Rosaline thought her time was precious before she left her home so was taking advantage of every opportunity she could to live her life to the fullest. Without the incentive of the nunnery, she may not have gone to the party and consequently met Romeo.

Rosaline enjoyed a very easy relationship with Tybalt, yet was naive to other pursuant men and no match for the evil eyes of Romeo that I believe knew of many maidens in the area and took interest in those easily conquered with flowery-language and insatiable manipulation. She had also begged her father for more time before reluctantly agreeing to the isolation of the convent and was desperate for some compassion to balance the heaviness of grief.

Yes, I do think she would have been taken in by Romeo’s charms even if she had not been slated for the convent. She may not have been in the right situation to meet him. Romeo though loved the conquest of seducing the forbidden fruit so probably would have found a way to get to the Capulet women.

She may have if they had met. But would they have met if she hadn't been seeking a little adventure before going to the convent? Her mother's death and her father's indifference might also have had something to do with her running into the arms of someone who paid attention to her.

I think Rosaline would have been more patient, especially if she knew she had her whole life to find love and experience all of the things she knew nothing about at 15. She chose to go to the masquerade party because it was one way to make the most of her time before entering the convent, setting up the meeting with Romeo that wouldn't have happened otherwise.
But, given Rosaline's loneliness and the lack of love in her life, if it hadn't been Romeo it would have been another man who was very similar. At the most vulnerable moments in my life, I've made very bad decisions about the people I spent my time with. When one's self esteem is low, others have the potential to wield a lot of power. A kind word, a longing look, and feeling like you are the most important person to another can color the real picture.
