Dusty's future

What future do you foresee for baby Dusty?

I hope he is not heir to a doomed future.

I think Dusty's future is one of being surrounded by a new kind of family. It won't be a traditional upbringing but one with many contributions from extended family and he will be the tie that binds many people together.

Dusty will be fine. He knows love and community. My main concern is the condition of the world that he is inheriting. I choose to be optimistic and hopeful that we all grow wiser, more loving and caring of this planet and each other.

Dusty has a loving grandmother and a loving aunt. Both in their own way are wonderful women. Hoping his father will come around once his life is settled.

Dusty's future is much more positive than it would be if his father was parenting him!

I agree that Dusty has a hopeful future, being raised within an extended family with lots of love even if the arrangements are unconventional, and we are left with the hope that Tig's generation will lead the way to build a healthier society in which we can share resources more equitably and cope creatively for a healthier environment. As a plot device, Dusty invites us to look at these issues from the perspective of future generations (some of us have grandchildren already).

Dusty is the future. He will be raised by "the village" respecting and honoring different cultures and lifestyles. His very name - Aldus means - "from the old house". He represents the new shelter, protection by all.
