Are we born with talent/ability?

Wes believed that one had to have been born with a talent or ability to fully appreciate it, such as his love of music and Dennis's love of horses. Do you agree?

RE: Are we born with talent/ability?

I think it is true that certain people are born with a talent or abilty and others are not or not as gifted. It can make a difference in enjoyment of the art or gift. I also think experiences can enhance that gift or ability to a certain degree. And I think that no matter how hard they try, others are not born with the aptitude or ability to develop or appreciate gifts or abilities as much as others if they haven't been given the depth of gift or ability as others have been given.

RE: Are we born with talent/ability?

Some people have a talent and others build talent from an interest. Either way, dedication and practice are required to move forward.

RE: Are we born with talent/ability?

To me, there is some truth to having talent/natural ability but experience is also a key element. Raising a puppy as a child teaches you responsibility and fun but might also make you realize it is rewarding to interact with animals - potential path to an animal trainer. Learning to read opens your mind to the impact of words and stories - path to an editor or writer or blogger or a screen writer. Learning another language allows you to more easily interact with another culture - path to travel and exploration. All of those examples may relate to a natural ability, but a particular experience may have formed direction. What if you never had a puppy or didn't enjoy reading or had no opportunity to learn another language? There are endless what if possibilities!
