If you were in their shoes, would you have taken the deal with Cellar Door Games or Opus Interactive to produce Ichigo? How would the novel have turned out differently if they had chosen Cellar Door?

It's a really tough choice. I guess it would depend if I valued the money and success over working with the "little guy" in more of a partnership. I suspect that I would have gone with Opus, as Sam did. After all, it really did provide them with the success they were seeking. I don't think they would have achieved the same level of prominence with Cellar Door. That said, obviously things would have turned out very differently for them. Max would be alive, for one thing, and I do wonder if they would have collectively had a lower stress level and been generally happier.

I was rooting for them to choose Cellar Door and I think it would have changed everything. I understand the pressure that made Sam want to go for the money, but in the end it cost them Marx and their friendship. once again, video games are sometimes better than real life, because you would have gotten a do-over.

I think it would have changed Sadie and Sam's relationship - Sam wouldn't have been regarded as much as the face of the game, which was one of the elements leading to their fall out. It's possible that their game may have not been as much of a success with Cellar Door and maybe Sam would have resented going along with Sadie's choice. I also don't believe that Marx would have been saved, as Opus wasn't directly responsible for what ultimately happened to him.
