The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper
Arthur Pepper has been widowed for one year. He has avoided social contacts even with his son and daughter. Then he chances upon a charm bracelet that his wife had hidden, and one that he had never seen before. It holds many secrets of her life before they met. He then goes on an adventure to find out the story behind each charm. Each encounter leads him to discover the life his wife had before they met and he rediscovers emotions he has kept hidden for too many years. This book is delightful, sometimes funny, and sometimes sad, but it will leave you with the belief that each day should be enjoyed to the fullest. It will promote a great discussion for Book Clubs.

The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper SINGS
I must start by saying, I LOVE THIS BOOK and will be looking for another one from this author. The characters were so well described that I felt like I knew them - some of Arthur's changes surprised me but made me happy for him. Definitely not a book to put down and forget about - it kept calling me to read a few more pages, read a few more pages. Phaedra Patrick (in my opinion) has a wonderful career ahead of her and I will be watching for her name on another book! This book made me happy - I am the same age as Arthur and sometimes have the same feelings about the past so I enjoyed seeing how his life came together. Wonderful!

    Arthur Pepper Blossoms
As Arthur travels to find out what the charms on his now-deceased wife Miriam's bracelet mean, he leaves behind a year of routines from which he didn't deviate. Traveling to a tiger enclosure, to Paris, to an art class and finally reuniting with his family, Arthur's life takes on new meaning and his personality blossoms. It's a wonderful journey which all ages would enjoy, and at the end you feel like you would like to have been on Arthur's journeys. You also wonder how Arthur could have lived with Miriam for 40 years without knowing any thing about her earlier years!

    Beautiful Story
What a delightful story this was! The characters were very real and it was fascinating to follow Arthur along on his adventures as he sought to find out the tale behind each charm. Highly recommended.

The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper
Initially, I felt as if I had read this book before; depressed widower, unable to cope since the death of his spouse, makes a life changing decision-ultimately choosing life. Meh. So imagine my surprise when I found myself absolutely delighted by Arthur's enthusiasm as he embraced the mystery behind one of his wife's keepsakes, discovered hidden in a shoe. His search led to new acquaintances, both near and far ( human and animal), telephone calls and travels, and even a new wardrobe! Most importantly, Arthur found the man his wife always knew he was and loved and the ability to once again be a parent to his children.

    A charming read
This was a delightful, charming read. The characters were vividly drawn, and the story simultaneously tugged at the heartstrings and was a little ray of hope. It's exactly the kind of book you want to dig into on rainy weekend with a bottomless teapot!

The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper
This delightful story explores the journey that takes Arthur Pepper from paralyzing grief to being able to live a fulfilling life again. Arthur's beloved wife has died, leaving him bereft, lonely and unable to find any pleasure in life, despite the unrelenting efforts of friends and family. That is, until he makes a startling discovery that will start him on a mission to retrace his late wife's past. What he finds will change his life forever. I would highly recommend this book to book clubs as it is sure to lead to a most lively discussion
