Did it Kill Her?
I received this book and within the next two days found time to read it whenever I could squeeze in the chance. My husband saw how engrossed I was and picked it up the second I was done and he chose it over tv or any other interruptions too. Now we are both planning to buy "The Edge of Normal" the last book by Carla Norton. This book had my heart beating faster from the first chapter to the last. The mystery is real and believable and I absolutely had to know whether or not the protagonist, Reeve, made it to the end of the story. The antagonist is extremely creepy and also believable, "He chooses a seat next to the window, where he can watch the fitness center's front door and parking lot. Even better, he can see inside, where all the young bodies are jogging and bouncing on rose of exercise equipment...so close." The climax found me at the time of night I should have been asleep but I was holding one eye open as I continued reading. The protagonist was brave, tender and real and the suspense remained through every page of this book. That ending wove the pieces together leaving me satisfied and so very glad that I have been introduced to Ms. Norton's work. If you like suspense, buy this one. You'll love it!

Norton Does it Again!
I had the pleasure of reading Ms. Norton's first book, "The Edge of Normal" as an ARC so I jumped at the chance to preview the sequel!! She again creates a great suspense throughout the novel and a gutsy character in Reeve. There is a lot of recapping about the previous book, so I would not recommend someone read it without reading The Edge of Normal.
Looking forward to what I can only assume will be a third book in the series.....

What Doesn't Kill Her
A very good read. I could not put this book down. It builds to a climax by giving information important to the story piece by piece. It actually got so intense at times that I would have to stop reading. It is a very easy, rapid read. I love books like this one. The story will make your blood pressure rise.

Satisfying Thriller
This was a fast-paced thriller that really hit the ground running. The heroine, Reeve, was abducted at age 12 and held captive for 4 years. Nine years later, she seems remarkably well adjusted and is living a typical college student life. When her abductor escapes from the mental facility where he is incarcerated, she becomes the key to his recapture, because of her intimate knowledge of him. The bad guy is satisfyingly evil, and the detailed and patient plan leading to his escape is chilling.
As with many thrillers, the final confrontation seems a little anticlimactic, but the haunting twist at the end closes out the book nicely. Looking forward to reading other books by this author.

What Doesn't Kill Her
As someone who loves mysteries/thrillers I can say this is a book anyone with similar taste will really enjoy reading. The main character, Reggie/Reeve is a very well-developed protagonist in the novel while Galt is easily imagined as evil incarnate. Supporting characters are believable and excellent foils the main two characters. For me, the plot was similar enough to the stories about abductions and the monsters who do them that we all have read about in the news the last few years to have me looking over my shoulder a little more often than before.
Enjoy if you are a fan of edge-of-your seat reading!

very interesting suspense
I was drawn in to this story from the first page. I read quite a few thrillers and found this to be an interesting one, with which I will pass on to my friends. I also feel that it would make an interesting book club read..The only problem I found hard to accept was when Reeve gets involved with trying to find the man who kidnapped her..I guess in my mind I would want to be as far away from him as was humanly possible. I know she felt obligated to help, but would a person who had been through all that she had still want to be involved? I guess I would be afraid.

Inspiring and engaging
A page turner from the start, this book is so much more than a thriller. It's a powerful story about strength, courage and hope. My only criticism of this book would be that it's hard to read something as entertainment knowing real people have endured circumstances such as Reeve. And yet real people have also been brave and strong and clever. Norton does a wonderful job of creating a thriller with heart and depth.
