    New Author For Me
This book was an easy, light read. I had not read this author before, and had a little bit of trouble getting into the story, but that could be because it wasn't the first book in the set. And to be honest, sometimes I can revisit a book later, and like it much more. I think I will read the previous book and see if that enhances the story for me.

    A quick lite read
"The Look of Love" would make a perfect day beach read: Short chapters, fashion, and fun. I was able to figure out the end but it was still an enjoyable read. I will pass the book along, but if I had to purchase the book, I would not spend my money on it.

    Uncomplicated Read
Though the book at times showed a slight glimmer of hope – the plot was silly. The only redeeming part was the relationship between Piper and Jack. I felt as though I was reading a novel in my early teens.

    A quick sitcom
This book was pleasant. It didn't grab my attention, but it held my interest. It was a light mystery that I don't regret reading; however, if I had paid full price for the book, I would have been furious. The chapters were distractingly short, the character's were not very deep and the plot not difficult to guess. I rate books on well I am transported to a new world, and this one left me still sitting in my living room.

    Wedding cake mystery #2
This is the second book in the Piper Donovan Mystery series, featuring a young actress turned wedding cake designer. I enjoyed book as a quick read, but I yearned for more character and plot development. The characters, even Piper, seemed one-dimensional, not really coming alive on the page. Having nailed the culprit early on, I was hoping for plot twists to throw me off. I felt that the story was in a serious need of a more judicious editing. There was a boatload of unresolved filler, which probably only served to bring up the page count and annoy the reader.

    Spas are dangerous
This story has a bit of everything--mystery, romance and even a recipe for icing! The read was fast and easy, too easy. The chapters were very short and did not help with the continuity of the story. The conclusion was very predictable and the mystery did not keep you guessing.

    A quick read...
The Look of Love is a fast paced mystery. Piper, the main character, is likable and relatable. I enjoyed this mystery as it was very light and quick to read, however it was a little predictable in my opinion. I can see this being a very good beach read.
