A Destination Thriller: Engaging but Not for the Faint of Heart
As a lover of escape fiction, I found this one hitting all the right buttons. Throughout the narrative, author Natalie Moss keeps the action flowing and the reader on the edge of their seat. Readers beware: There are many violent episodes that feature gruesome details - such that readers with low tolerance for such things may want to take a pass. For readers attuned to survival scenarios, there's much to commend it,

Taking place in South Africa, the often chilling scenes, both natural and man-made, are brought to life with this writer's deft touch. The main protagonists are two sisters traveling in a group to their deceased mother's backcountry home. Every fellow traveler's friendliness status at one time or another is up for grabs. The author mostly succeeds in keeping the reader guessing, but sufficient hints are dropped along the way, allowing readers to engage in the hunt for clues. Verdict: FUN!!

    The Night Hunter
The Night Hunter was one of those books that grabbed my attention from the first chapter and never let go. The story follows two sisters who reunite to revisit their childhood home on a remote South African game reserve after years of being apart because of a tragic event in their past.

What starts as a seemingly simple trek with friends and a guide quickly turns into a suspenseful fight for survival. Just when I thought I had figured out where the story was going, another twist changed everything. The South African setting was vivid and added an extra layer of tension and danger to the story.

I especially like Natalie Moss's exploration of the relationship between the sisters and how their past affected the decisions they made throughout the book. The mix of family drama, suspense, and action kept me turning pages.

If you enjoy thrillers with strong characters, unexpected twists, and a unique setting, I recommend The Night Hunter.

    The night hunter
THE NIGHT HUNTER, by Natalie Moss, follows the return of Danielle and her sister Grace to their isolated family house nestled within a wildlife reserve. Disguised as a safari adventure, each sister invites two friends to ease the journey, which turns into a nightmare when a murder rocks their first morning in the bush. As the search for answers progresses, those involved are forced to confront difficult truths, complicated relationships, and the consequences of decisions made years earlier. The story combines mystery and suspense, with a strong focus on its central characters.

I found this to be an engaging read. I enjoyed the way Natalie Moss gradually revealed information at a steady pace, balancing the story with characters that felt like real people, complete with flaws, conflicting motivations, and personal histories that influenced their choices. Several twists caught me by surprise, and I appreciated that the revelations felt earned rather than simply inserted for shock value. The result was an engaging mystery that kept me curious about where the story was heading.

Thank you to Natalie Moss, Berkely Publishing Group, BookBrowse, and NetGalley for providing me with an advance review copy of this book. I enjoyed the suspenseful journey and the well-crafted mystery, and I look forward to reading more of the author's work. All opinions expressed are my own.

Wow...A Book Too Good to Miss
This reader couldn't put this book down. It was actually read in two days. (I did have to sleep.) The author did an excellent job describing both characters and settings. One felt as if one was in the jungle with the animals. What a surprise ending!!!! I will not say more.

Excellent Debut- Thriller in the African Bush
Natalie Moss is a writer to watch! The Night Hunter is a fast paced, mesmerizing debut that kept me intrigued from the first page. The narrative is beautifully written. Sisters Grace and Dani embark on a safari across a game preserve to conclude some family business after the death of their mother, Elizabeth, who established a foundation to save the rhinos. Dani has carried the weight of responsibility for not saving her sister from an attack by an hyena when they were children, a guilt that has poisoned their relationship.

The sisters are joined by an eclectic group of friends and a guide to drive them across the bush to their mother's property. Almost immediately, it is evident that danger lurks behind or from above every tree in a parched environment without phone service, petrol stations or convenience stores.

This thriller kept me guessing and shocked until the final pages.
This book will definitely resonate with fans of Jane Harper.

    Night Hunter
Night Hunter is a stunning debut novel. There are surprises in every chapter, keeping the reader on edge to discover what will happen next. I will classify this as a thriller/ adventure /mystery story. It was extremely interesting reading about the bush country of South Africa. The writing was very descriptive. I will recommend this to book clubs.

Excellent Survival Thriller Set on an African Safari
Wow, so much to say about this book. This has been one of my favorite books I've read in quite some time.

The Night Hunter by Natalie Moss features a well-developed cast of characters fighting for their lives in a private reserve in South Africa. Danielle Johnson leads an intriguing group in which almost nobody seems to be who they appear as they fight poachers, wild animals, and the climate, all in search of a mysterious secret surrounding Danielle's recently deceased conservationist mother.

This is an exceptionally well-constructed novel including great character development, phenomenal plot twists, an excellent narrative style, and near-perfect pacing. I read over half of this novel in a single day as I couldn't put it down.

From beginning to end, this novel had me on the edge of my seat. I can't imagine a reader who wouldn't enjoy this; it has something for everyone to love. I already can't wait for the next offering by this promising author.
