This was a pretty poor read as historical novels go. The amount of information crammed into the first chapters of who was who and what was mind-boggling and ridiculous…like Downtown Abbey on steroids. I was appalled at the bad German and the stereotypical descriptions of
…more just about everyone in the story but especially the Germans…reminded me of the danger of describing everyone of a particular nationality in negative terms.
