Angela's Ashes: A Memoir
by Frank McCourt
This book awakened me (8/29/2020)
My becoming aware of this book is strange. This book appeared in my mailbox. There was no explanation of where it came from or who had sent it to me. I had absolutely no recollection of ordering it. I had been going through a long period of depression and self-isolation and not reading anything. I did read this book and I loved it and in some ways I related to it. It sparked my old love of reading and I have been reading more ever since. When my husband and I visited Ireland we made a special stop in Limerick to see Frank McCourt's old neighborhood and the museum in his honor.
All the Light We Cannot See
by Anthony Doerr
One of the best WWII novels (8/29/2020)
This book went to the top of the list for WWII novels I have read. It was beautifully written and captivating. I was sorry it ended.
