First 100 pages very exasperating as I had not known it was part of a trilogy, and, thus, could not follow at all..at first. Seemed like it went back and forth, each section a different character.poor flow.. Finally, by about page 100, it took hold of me and what seemed …more left out at first, was filled in by a wonderfully exciting explication of political intrigues going on leading to war. Found that part and last 1/2 of book fascinating. Clearly a strong writer, excellent use of description. (less)
