When I received the book, it was clear that it was a novel and not a "true story." I thought that I was getting non fiction so that was a disappointment. Aside from that misdirection, the novel was a bit plodding for me. His journalistic writing style did not make the storymore

I had a very difficult time moving past the first chapter. The characters were not at all engaging and the manner in which the book was written did nothing at all for me. It felt choppy, amateurish, and trying too hard to be deep and meaningful.
