Before the War
by Fay Weldon
Before The War (10/30/2016)
A very disappointing book. The story just wandered all over the place. Really no plot. I found myself going back to read what I had just read to keep all the events and characters straight. I would not recommend this book.
Lady Cop Makes Trouble: Girl Waits with Gun #2
by Amy Stewart
Lady Cop Makes Trouble. (5/12/2016)
I enjoyed reading the second book about Constance Kopp. It was as well written as the first book, Lady Waits With Gun. As I was reading I could just picture all the adventures Constance had gotten herself into. Just think how hard it would be, to be on a foot chase withmore
The Midnight Watch: A Novel of the Titanic and the Californian
by David Dyer
The Midnight Watch (2/9/2016)
What an excellent book. I had not read anything about another ship in the area where the Titanic sank, other then the Carpathia. I can not imagine what was going through the mind of Captain Lord as the information was given to him about the rockets that were fired. The bookmore
The Two-Family House
by Lynda Cohen Loigman
The Two Family House (10/30/2015)
This book was a very slow read for me. From the beginning of the book you knew what had happened with the babies. If that information was told later in the book , the book would of been more interesting. But maybe not. I did not find any part of this book that I liked.
A Fireproof Home for the Bride
by Amy Scheibe
A Fireproof Home For The Bride. (3/30/2015)
After reading a review about this book in my local newspaper and being an alumni of the high school in the book, graduating in the 1950's, I could hardly wait to read this book. I liked the map that the author has at the beginning of the box and she was correct on some ofmore
The Book of Speculation
by Erika Swyler
Book of Speculation (3/29/2015)
What a fantastic book. This is not the kind of book I normally read, but as I got into the book I could not put it down. I like the way the author went between the present and the past , one chapter in the present and one in the past ,so it was easy to follow. It wasmore
Letters to the Lost
by Iona Grey
Letters to the Lost (3/6/2015)
I rated this book as average, because it was just an OK book. It did have a good beginning and a good ending, but in between was not so good. I have read over 200 books, both historical fiction and history on World War II.
Lusitania: Triumph, Tragedy, and the End of the Edwardian Age
by Greg King, Penny Wilson
Lusitana (12/26/2014)
I had not heard much about the Lusitania, other then it had been hit by a torpedo and sunk by the Germans, during World War One. In reading this book I was able to gain a much clearer understanding about the people that sailed on the Lusitania even after there wasmore
